We are also doing our best to make sure Booking Activities will be working, or at least <strong>can work<\/strong> in any circumstances. But WordPress has a lot of plugins and themes that may interfere and cause issues. Depending on their combination, the problems can come from anywhere. Here are some frequently asked questions and their answers to help you troubleshoot.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"dashicons dashicons-warning\"><\/span> Booking Activities only works with <strong>PHP 5.3<\/strong> or later, <strong>MySQL 5.6<\/strong> or later, <strong>WordPress 3.6<\/strong> or later (and <strong>WooCommerce 3.0<\/strong> or later if you use it).<\/p>\n<p><span class = \"dashicons dashicons-warning\"><\/span> Make sure <strong>Booking Activities<\/strong> and <strong>its add-ons<\/strong> are <u>up to date<\/u>. You can check the add-ons&#8217; version on their <a href=\"https:\/\/booking-activities.fr\/en\/add-ons\/\">product page<\/a>, and Booking Activities&#8217; version on its <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/booking-activities\/\">wordpress.org page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><div id=\"faqconc_1_4_8_support-faq\" class=\"faqconc support-faq\" role=\"tablist\" aria-multiselectable=\"true\"><div class=\"faq_item\" id=\"faq1592support-faq\"><div class=\"faq_q\" id=\"faq1592support-faq_q\" aria-selected=\"false\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls =\"faq1592support-faq_a\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\">Booking Activities doesn&#8217;t work as it should<\/div><div class=\"faq_a\" id=\"faq1592support-faq_a\" aria-labelledby=\"faq1592support-faq_q\" aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"tabpanel\"><div class=\"faq_a_content\"><p>You have read the documentation, seen screenshots or watched a video of Booking Activities, and something doesn't work as intended.<br \/>\nThis may be due to a conflict with a plugin or with your theme.<\/p>\n<p>Here is how to know what plugin is causing the issue:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Deactivate all plugins except Booking Activities and its add-ons (and except WooCommerce if you use it)\n<li>Reproduce the problem\n<li>See if it works\n<\/ol>\n<p><span class=\"dashicons dashicons-yes\"><\/span> If it works:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Reactivate your plugins one by one\n<li><u>Between each activation<\/u>, reproduce the problem\n<li>If the problem occurs after you activate a specific plugin, <strong>the conflict come from this plugin<\/strong>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span class=\"dashicons dashicons-no-alt\"><\/span> If it doesn't work:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Download and activate <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/themes\/twentytwentythree\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Twenty Twenty-Three<\/a> theme (WordPress basic theme)\n<li>Reproduce the problem\n<li>See if it works\n<\/ol>\n<p><span class=\"dashicons dashicons-yes\"><\/span> If it works, <strong>the conflict come from your theme<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<span class=\"dashicons dashicons-no-alt\"><\/span> If it still doesn't work, please contact us and give use these information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The URL of the page where the problem occurs (if online and available)\n<li>Your WordPress, Booking Activities, and PHP versions\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"faq_item\" id=\"faq2167support-faq\"><div class=\"faq_q\" id=\"faq2167support-faq_q\" aria-selected=\"false\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls =\"faq2167support-faq_a\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\">Events do not appear on the calendar<\/div><div class=\"faq_a\" id=\"faq2167support-faq_a\" aria-labelledby=\"faq2167support-faq_q\" aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"tabpanel\"><div class=\"faq_a_content\"><p>This issue can have a lot of sources, you need to check them all until you find yours. First, let's make sure this is not a technical problem.<\/p>\n<p><input type='checkbox' \/><strong>Do you have a javascript error?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/webmasters.stackexchange.com\/questions\/8525\/how-do-i-open-the-javascript-console-in-different-browsers?answertab=active#tab-top\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Open your browser's console<\/a>\n<li>Refresh the page where the your calendar is and go to a view where your events are supposed to appear (e.g.: from January 1st to January 7th)\n<li>See if an error appears in the console\n<\/ol>\n<p>If this is the case, it may be due to a conflict with a plugin or with your theme. Please refer now to \"Booking Activities doesn't work as it should\" section in this FAQ.<\/p>\n<p><input type='checkbox' \/><strong>Does your CSS hide events?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Try to switch between view types (monthly, weekly, daily) and see if your events appear\n<li>Go to a view where events should appear (e.g.: from January 1st to January 7th), open your browser's inspector (usually F12), search for \"<code>a.fc-event<\/code>\" in the html code (CTRL+F). Double check that your search is made in the page source code, not in the page itself. See if your events appear in code <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/booking-activities.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/booking-activities-find-events-in-code-1024x480.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"375\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/booking-activities.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/booking-activities-find-events-in-code-1024x480.png 1024w, https:\/\/booking-activities.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/booking-activities-find-events-in-code-150x70.png 150w, https:\/\/booking-activities.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/booking-activities-find-events-in-code-300x141.png 300w, https:\/\/booking-activities.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/booking-activities-find-events-in-code-768x360.png 768w, https:\/\/booking-activities.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/booking-activities-find-events-in-code.png 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you can see your events during this check, then your theme is using a specific CSS that prevent the events to be displayed. You need to identify and fix it in your child theme.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p>Booking Activities has a lot of availability options, which is great when you mastered them all, but can cause you trouble if you don't understand why your events don't appear on your calendar. Let's reset these options one by one to understand where the problem come from.<\/p>\n<p><input type='checkbox'\/><strong>Do the \"Calendar\" field filters contain your events?<\/strong><br \/>\nWhen you create a form, it is empty by default. Or, if you create it from the calendar editor, it will include by default the events currently displayed on the current calendar. Then, if you add an activity, a group of events, or even a calendar, the form calendar WON'T be automatically updated. Each form calendar has its own settings, and its own sources of events.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to Booking Activities > Booking Forms\n<li>Select the desired form\n<li>Click on \"Calendar settings\"\n<li>Click \"Show advanced options\"\n<li>In the \"Filters\" tab, make sure that the desired calendars and activities are correctly selected\n<ol>\n<li><em>You can make a multiple selection with the \"plus\" icon <span class=\"dashicons dashicons-plus\"><\/span> next to the selectbox, then select the desired items with CTRL + Click<\/em><\/ol>\n<li>Disable the \"Groups only\" option\n<li>Disable the \"Reserved only\" option\n<li>Validate the dialog\n<\/ol>\n<p><input type='checkbox' \/><strong>Are your events at a future date?<\/strong><br \/>\nBooking Activities only display future events compare to your timezone.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to Booking Activities settings, \"General\" tab\n<li>Make sure you have set up your own timezone in \"Calendars timezone\" option\n<li>Unckeck both \"Are started events bookable?\" and \"Are started groups of events bookable?\" options\n<li>Go to the calendar editor and make sure your events are at a future date\n<li>In you calendar settings, \"General\" tab, make sure your events are between your Opening and Closing dates\n<li>Go to your booking form editor, in the calendar field settings, \"Availability\" tab, show the advanced options, make sure your events are between your Opening and Closing dates\n<li>Refresh the page where the your calendar is and go to a view where your events are supposed to appear (e.g.: from January 1st to January 7th)\n<\/ol>\n<p><input type='checkbox' \/><strong>Are your events in the availability period?<\/strong><br \/>\nBooking Activities features a rolling availability period.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to your booking form editor, in the calendar field settings, \"Availability\" tab\n<li>Empty both \"At the latest\" and \"At the earliest\" options\n<li>Empty the \"Opening\" and \"Closing\" options\n<li>Turn OFF the \"Past events\" option\n<li>Validate the dialog with the \"OK\" button\n<li>Refresh the page where the calendar is and go to a view where your events are supposed to appear (e.g.: from January 1st to January 7th)\n<li>If it still doesn't work, try to validate the dialog with the \"Reset\" button\n<\/ol>\n<p><input type='checkbox' \/><strong>Are your activities restricted to certain user roles?<\/strong><br \/>\nYou can select which user roles are allowed to book your events. If you select at least one user role, no other user, including whom non logged in, will be able to see these events. Then, if you want to make your activity available for everybody, you need to select no role.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to the calendar editor, in your activities settings, \"Permission\" tab, and unselect all roles (Use CTRL+Click)\n<li>If you have grouped your events, also unselect all roles in your group categories settings\n<li>Refresh the page where the your calendar is and go to a view where your events are supposed to appear (e.g.: from January 1st to January 7th)\n<\/ol>\n<hr\/>\n<p><input type='checkbox' \/><strong>Is your shortcode \/ WooCommerce integration correct?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to your booking form editor, in the calendar field settings, \"Filters\" tab, and show the advanced options\n<li>Select the desired calendar and activity\n<li>In the \"Group category\" selectbox, choose \"None\"\n<li>Turn off the \"Groups only\" option\n<li>Turn off the \"Booked only\" option\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you are not using WooCommerce:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Copy the shortcode in the \"How to integrate this form\" box in the form edition page and paste it in the \"Text\" tab of any post \/ page you like\n<li>Make sure that all the quotation marks are straight <code>'<\/code> and replace them if they are not. You can also use double straight quotation marks <code>\"<\/code> instead\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you are using WooCommerce:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In the \"Product data\" area, \"Activity\" tab, make sure you have selected the desired form. If you are using variations, check that you have selected the desired form in every variation.\n<\/ol>\n<p>Finally, refresh the page where the your calendar is and go to a view where your events are supposed to appear (e.g.: from January 1st to January 7th)<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p>You have tried everything, and nothing works... Please follow the instructions under \"Booking Activities doesn't work as it should\" section in this FAQ.<br \/>\nIf you need to contact us, you must include the following information in your email:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An administrator access to you website (or a to a development website where the problem occurs)\n<li>Make sure that the Plugins > Plugin Editor is working\n<li>The URL of the aria-labelledby=\"faq1543support-faq_q\" aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"tabpanel\"><div class=\"faq_a_content\"><p>In posts or pages, you need to use the <a href=\"https:\/\/booking-activities.fr\/en\/docs\/user-documentation\/get-started-with-booking-activities\/display-a-booking-form-or-a-calendar-on-the-frontend\/\">shortcode<\/a> given in Booking Activities > Booking forms.<br \/>\nIn WooCommerce product pages, you need to configure you WooCommerce product as mentionned in the <a href=\"https:\/\/booking-activities.fr\/en\/docs\/user-documentation\/get-started-with-booking-activities\/display-calendars-on-product-page\/\">documentation<\/a>.<br \/>\nYour calendar <strong>must have an event available at a future date<\/strong>, else it will display an error message \"No events available\".<\/p>\n<p>If nothing appears at all, it is probably because of a javascript This table shows all notifications sending instructions that have been passed to the server.\n<\/ol>\n<p><span class=\"dashicons dashicons-yes\"><\/span>If the email appears in the list, it means that the sending instruction has been transmitted to your server, so the problem is not with Booking Activities. Do test #1 again, the most common blocking reason is that the configured sender address is not the one expected by the SMTP server. Then contact your hosting provider to ask why the email is being blocked (give them the exact time the email was sent).<br \/>\n<span class=\"dashicons dashicons-no-alt\"><\/span>If the email does not appear in the list, proceed to the next test.<\/p>\n<p><input type='checkbox'\/><strong>Do other emails sent by WordPress work?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In your admin panel, go to Users > Add new\n<li>Set the username, and a real email address that you can check the inbox\n<ul>\n<li><em>Tip: if you have a gmail address like myaddress@gmail.com, you can use myaddress+test@gmail.com (or <code>+anything<\/code>)<\/em><\/ul>\n<li>Check the box: \"Send User Notification\"\n<li>validate with the button \"Add new user\"\n<li>Check your inbox and your spams and look for the WordPress welcome email\n<\/ol>\n<p><span class=\"dashicons dashicons-yes\"><\/span>If you have received that email, proceed to the next test.<br \/>\n<span class=\"dashicons dashicons-no-alt\"><\/span>If you <strong>haven't received<\/strong> that email, it probably means that the problem occurs at the SMTP server. You can try to use another SMTP server with a plugin like <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/wp-mail-smtp\/\">WP Mail SMTP<\/a>. If it is working with another SMTP server, contact your webhost to report the problem. Moreover, some plugins may change the wp_mail function (used by both WordPress and Booking Activities to send emails).
